In February 2010 Nicholas Lowinger, then only 12 years old, created Gotta Have Sole Foundation as part of his bar mitzvah project. His goal was to provide new footwear to underprivileged children living in homeless shelters. Since that time, his foundation has donated footwear to over 10,000 needy children in 21 states accross the country as well as Washington D.C. The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation is one of Nick’s supporters.
Jim Wahlberg (Mark’s brother), at the request of Rhea Wahlberg, reached out to Lori and her son Nick to introduce them to GSC. Through the joined efforts of the Wahlberg and the Lowinger families, and Rhea’s commitment to GSC, every child living at Good Shepherd Center received a new pair of sneakers. Thank you Nicholas for your vision and your generosity and to Rhea for your support of Good Shepherd Center.
