MURAL FOR CHILDREN’S ROOM
New York muralist Sam Simon and his assistants Fletcher McKean and Danielle Brennan donated one week of their time to create a fantasy environment for the children of Good Shepherd Center. The idea began when Reggie Sully with McCoy Construction, Nicole Yonke with Annette English and Associates and George Chavez with CALBO saw a need; to convert the back portion of the community room into a room that would clearly be identified as the children’s area.
Sam’s murals are customized; care is taken to the tiniest of details like the eye lashes, and real Swarovski crystals provide an elegant finish. The result is a work of art that appeals to the child in all of us.
Without the kindness of donors such as these, our children’s room would have the same white walls it had when it was known as the community room. Many thanks to our generous donors and volunteers!
